Freely Given. Freely Give.
This week though, I have been thinking and researching a lot about nature. About the fabrics I own, use and wear. The materials I use for my art. The chemicals we use to clean and the natural medicines that God has provided for us through the Earth and all His creation.
What I found the most interesting is how simple things are when you really think about it. And how could they possibly be free? To get fresh air, all one has to do is go outside and the benefits of it are numerous. To get vitamin d, you just need sunlight. Maybe a lot of it for England’s case but it’s free all the same. And so on and so forth.
We know or should know the laws of health which is such a beautiful gift from God. Everything He made was perfect in the beginning. Yes, sin has marred things, but we can still see, witness and take great benefit from the goodness of God. You can still see and feel its beauty if you so choose.
God knows what we need and He provided it before He even made man. He modelled the masculine and feminine of providing a home, food, everything we could ever need and homemaking and nesting for the “arrival”, if you will of His children.
The gift that I am also so grateful for is the gift of our salvation and the opportunity to have eternal life. I’m not even interested as much though in the eternal life part. I’m mostly interested in the eternal connection I will be able to benefit from with our Heavenly Father.
How simple yet so complex is His love. Jesus even said “I go to prepare a place for you and will come again to receive you onto Myself.”
Wow. Thank you!
As a young child, the one thing I wanted to be when I grew up was an artist. I just wanted to draw, create, diy things, dress up and play about with colours and textures and other pigments.
As I learned more, I started to scratch the surface of how intricate and beautiful the creation of our brains are and how to access even just a tiny part of the right brain which helps with creation.
I then started to get dreams of different things I could paint and once had a dream I will never forget.
In my dream I was walking through the clouds and stopped in from of some golden gates. I turned to the left and saw the biggest canvas ever that stretched across the clouds for maybe 3 or 4 meters.
In front of the canvas with a huge paintbrush and paint palette in one hand was God. He was making some really beautiful marks and looked rather jolly with His half apron around His waist.
He turned over to look at me and smiled. Then He proceeded to hand the paintbrush over to me.
At this point I woke up, and had to have an immediate conversation with Him.
“How can You give me the paint brush? I don’t want to ruin what You’ve begun. I just want to watch and see what You’re doing. I can’t join in. I don’t know what to do or how to finish it.”
After sharing my doubts, He gently impressed me that that’s exactly what every true follower of Him does. He starts something, reveals to us where He’s working and then, He asks us to join Him.
It is our greatest collaboration ever. Walking side by side with the master creator. My master artist. He will show us where to go and what to do. A little bit at a time things will be revealed to us. These small nuggets of information keep us on our knees. It keeps us humble and it keeps us listening.
It keeps me learning also because I have now started to implement using different soils and stones found from the earth to make paints.
Just as God formed man from the dust, I can make paint and create something on a canvas with the materials He has freely given us.
I share all this because literally everything has Gods signature on it. Everything can be used to glorify Him. Every act that we do should be an act of worship. Whether we’re cleaning, cooking, working, walking, writing, witnessing. Everything can be a form of worship. All creation sings to God and should cause us to look up to the one who freely gives and freely loves.
Just as He is, so should we be.
This coming week, or even the next moment we’re blessed with, make up in your mind that no matter what, you will praise God and freely give. Whether that’s your time, your listening ears, your resources, your help or advice. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep you in tune with the King of Kings. Look for His voice and His love in everything because it’s all over everywhere you turn. Freely accept His love and His gifts and blessings and freely share what He gives you with others.
What would you like to share or give God thanks about?
